When it comes to Johnny Z’s Casino, there have not been any announcements about the specific plans for retail and online sportsbooks, but by looking at its owner and operator Maverick Gaming, we can get some clues about what is likely to happen.
When Maverick purchased Johnny Z’s from CC Gaming LLC, majority owner Eric Perssonsaid:
“This purchase gives Maverick Gaming sports betting in two states and we look forward to adding more jurisdictions in the coming months.”
As for which company Maverick and Johnny Z’s might partner with, William Hill appears most likely. Maverick Gaming owns four Nevada casinos, Gold Country Inn and Casino, Red Garter Hotel and Casino, Red Lion Hotel and Casino and Wendover Nugget Hotel and Casino. William Hill runs the sportsbooks at Red Garter, Red Lion and Wendover, while Gold Country does not have a sportsbook.
As for William Hill, the company is one of the leading gaming companies in United Kingdom.

Johnny Z S Casino Central City
Back in the 1990s when gambling was first legalized in Colorado, Johnny Z’s was then known as The Central Palace Casino. Its first owner was George Maloof, of the prominent Maloof family.
CC Gaming LLC bought the property for a reported $725,000 and then invested another $5.5 million in renovations. In 2010 it reopened as the Reserve Casino Hotel and later the name was changed to Johnny Z’s.
In 2019, Maverick Gaming LLC purchased Central City-based Johnny Z’s and Grand Z Casino Hotel, and Z Casino, located in Black Hawk.
