Craps Big 6 And 8

What are the Big Six and Big Eight bet? In simplest terms, it is a play in craps when a player bets whether a six or an eight will be rolled before the seven. Basically, the dice are rolled until a six or seven comes up and the player wins or loses. With the Big Six, if the six comes before the seven, the player wins. The Big Six and the Big Eight are self-serviced bets and give players the chance to make bets on 6 and 8. Considering the fact that they are not interrelated bets, this means that they do not have an effect on one another, which therefore means that gambling enthusiasts can place them together or one at a time, depending on their own preferences.

Avoid Big 6 or 8 When you’re playing craps online, you’ll notice Big 6 or 8 at the table, and contrary to what you might think, the word “big” doesn’t mean big wins. They pay out even money if a 6 or 8 is rolled, so if you bet $10, you’ll win back $10. The big 6 is a wager that 6 will be rolled before 7. The dice are rolled as many times as necessary until the player wins or loses. If 7 comes out before 6, you lose. The big 8 wagers are processed in the same manner.

In all the times I've been at the table I have never seen a six or eight that was bigger than the other sixes or eights...

I've never seen them at Sands PA. I have a feeling that PA copied the wording of AC's gaming rules, so it may be illegal in PA as well.

CrapsFor video poker, they more or less copied West Virginia. NJ, PA, and WV, all have poorly worded regulations for video poker, imo, but should behave like Nevada once you break down all the rules. I have been going round and round on videopoker.com over NJ law because they call video poker (a 'slot machine with an element of skill'), so the conspiracy theorists on that site think it doesn't come from a random deck.
Considering how the PA regs are written, I would also say Big 6/Big 8 are illegal simply because they aren't mentioned in the regulations, but everything else is. PA is a great model for table game regulations. Nevada is a joke compared to them.

Where I play, they don't need to put the Big 6 & 8 on the layout. Plenty of players place them for $5, anyway.

Craps Big 6 And 8 X 10

The house probably makes more money off of breakage on below-minimum 6/8 bets (and 5/9 + 4/10 bets on $3 minimum tables) than any other bet on the table. I know of no other bet with such a high house edge in relation to variance. I would love these bettors if I were the house! Dealers love to complain about $3 minimums, but the house makes more money on them!

I asked an older gentleman once who played the Big 6/8 as to why he did. He obviously was experienced and I had no doubt he knew the odds and what he was doing.
He simply said that he did not like having the dealers handle his bets, and that when he decided to take down or return his Big 6/8 bet(s), he could do so by himself. As I watched, the only bets the guy made were the Pass Line with odds and the Big 6/8. Nothing else.
So, 'self-serve' was the answer.

I'd given up trying to explain the breakage to those guys. Some of them must understand it, because they will sometimes 'make it proper' after one hit.
